I’m a lifelong Dearborn resident, educator, and public servant who has spent my career fighting for our community. I currently represent Dearborn Heights and the west end of Dearborn in the Michigan House of Representatives, where I work everyday to bring a strong voice for working families to Lansing.

Before serving in the Legislature, I served on Dearborn City Council for five years, representing residents across the entire city and working to address neighborhood concerns with community-centered solutions. A longtime educator, I began my career as a middle school teacher and later worked at the University of Michigan, where I led a literacy tutoring program and then transitioned to student voter education and turnout. I earned my B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and completed graduate studies in education, reflecting my deep commitment to expanding opportunity for every student and family.

In the State House, I’ve focused on protecting healthcare and public education, strengthening transparency and accountability, and ensuring that government actually delivers for the people it serves. I know real change takes sustained hard work, and I’m committed to lowering the cost of living, holding polluters accountable, protecting our immigrant communities from Trump’s tyranny, and more.

I’m running for State Senate because I believe this is where I can do the most good for the greatest number of people in her community. At a time when power must remain in the hands of the people, I’m ready to bring experienced leadership, a proven record of standing up to special interests, and a commitment to putting community first to the Senate.

Our Senate District includes Allen Park, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Detroit (partial), Melvindale and Taylor (partial). I will serve every person and every community in our district equally, and your voice will be heard in Lansing.
